Dr Alan Hebben-Wadey is a highly experienced Clinical Psychologist, therapist, clinical lecturer, trainer and supervisor.
He qualified as a Clinical Psychologist in 2011. He has more than 20 years’ experience working in psychology and mental health.
Dr Hebben-Wadey works with individuals, couples and families experiencing psychological distress, relationship difficulties, trauma and complex life circumstances. He also has extensive specialist experience helping people manage the emotional and psychological effects of physical health conditions.
His approach combines evidence-based psychological therapy with warmth, authenticity and practical guidance. Alan works collaboratively and tailors therapy to each person’s experiences, circumstances, needs and goals.

Alan is experienced in helping people whose difficulties are complex or interconnected. This may include people experiencing emotional distress alongside relationship, family, work or physical health problems.
Dr Hebben-Wadey has substantial experience helping people who have experienced trauma, post-traumatic stress and other highly distressing circumstances.
Traumatic experiences can affect mood, sleep, relationships, physical wellbeing and a person’s sense of safety. Some people experience intrusive memories, nightmares, avoidance, guilt, shame, anxiety or a feeling of being constantly on alert.

Where appropriate, he may use Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing, commonly known as EMDR, alongside other evidence-based psychological approaches.
