Clinical Psychologist with Extensive Psychology Experience

Dr Jo Jennison has worked within various NHS Mental Health Services since 2000, with:

  • adults with mental health problems (offering psychology to inpatients and out patients),
  • people with intellectual disabilities,
  • young people and adults with developmental problems affecting their social interaction, communication and learning (worked as specialist neurodevelopmental psychologist).

Dr Jo Jennison currently works part-time as the Consultant Psychological Lead for Neurodivergence within Communities in a Mental Health Trust.

She has presented at various conferences, including at the Royal College of Psychiatrists on ADHD and Psychotherapeutic support.

  • Adult Mental Health Services (community mental health teams, and acute mental health in-patient settings),
  • community services for people with intellectual disabilities and also
  • a specialist neurodevelopmental team.

Providing bespoke individual and group psychological interventions to:

  • adults experiencing mental health difficulties,
  • people with an Intellectual Disability and their families or
  • support teams and adults diagnosed with autism and /or ADHD

Providing person centred diagnostic assessments for:

  • Autism,
  • ADHD and
  • Intellectual Disabilities

Detailed cognitive assessments (including executive functioning) and informing care plans and recommendations for reasonable adjustments

Providing consultation and supervision to both psychologists and multi-disciplinary teams

Inputting into Clinical Psychology doctorate training programmes on Neuroaffirmative approaches

Leading on trauma-informed practice for a county-wide assertive outreach service for people facing homelessness, substance use, domestic abuse, contact with the criminal justice system and mental health difficulties

Contributing to trauma-informed training, specifically around trauma-informed supervision
