Dr Kate Fox believes that Cognitive Analytic Therapy (CAT) is a really helpful therapy to look at, and work to improve, the interactions between people, including for individuals and couples seeking therapy together.
A CAT couple therapy format aims to help gain an understanding of each partner’s interactional patterns; recognising unhelpful patterns so that both parties can work on revising longstanding patterns.

My approach is collaborative – working together with you, to identify the areas you would like to address and decide together, how best to do this.
We can set goals or areas to address, and this can help to keep our work together focused.
We explore how our early relationships with our caregivers and siblings create our “sense of self’”. Often these ways of being or understanding our self worked well when we were younger but sometimes need exploring and updating, to support us better in our adult stages of life.
We can also explore the parts of yourself you haven’t had the opportunity to develop and grow in the way you would have liked to.
For more information about CAT please see our CAT webpage.
