Dr Nina Shergill, Clinical Psychologist (Consultant)

She is a chartered member and Associate Fellow of the British Psychological Society and registered with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).

She has worked in the field of psychology within a wide range of settings for over 20 years. She first worked in academic research and health psychology, and from 2007 in Mental Health Services in the NHS.

She currently works within Integrated Mental Health Teams offering specialist psychological assessment, therapy, and consultation to people with complex and enduring mental health problems.

Experience in a Range of Therapies

Dr Nina Shergill is skilled and has experience in a range of evidence-based psychological therapies including:

  • Cognitive Behavioural Therapy
  • EMDR
  • Dialectical Behaviour Therapy
  • Intensive Short-Term Dynamic Psychotherapy
  • Mentalization Based Therapy

This allows the development of bespoke psychological therapy aimed to suit your needs.

The goal of early sessions is to focus on:

  •  developing a shared understanding of your problems,
  • identifying goals and the change you desire to work towards, and
  • discussing which therapeutic approaches Dr Nina Shergill believes would be most helpful.

Treatment of Psychological and Emotional Difficulties

Dr Nina Shergill has experience of helping people with a wide range of psychological and emotional difficulties, including but not limited to:

Dr Nina Shergill is also qualified as a Health Psychologist.

She has helped people who have experienced psychological and emotional problems because of their physical health and/or the treatments received, and support carers.

She has worked in oncology, cardiology, dementia services and palliative care.

Dr Shergill’s usual fee is £125 for an appointment, for individuals for Clinical Psychology / Psychological Therapy / Psychological Intervention.

She can offer training and clinical supervision to health professionals within clinical settings or private practice.
