Nicola Haisman is a Chartered Consultant Clinical Psychologist with the British Psychological Society and a Registered Practitioner Psychologist with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC).
She worked in the NHS for 30 years in a variety of roles and contexts in the area of adult mental health.
This included working with clients with long standing and complex issues, offering supervision, managing staff and service development.
Nicola is experienced in working with a range of presentations, including anxiety, depression, complex trauma, issues around emotional regulation and personality difficulties.
She is a trained Clinical Psychologist.
Additionally, she is trained in DBT (Dialectical Behaviour Therapy) and Compassion Focused therapy.
She draws on these and other approaches to develop a shared compassionate understanding of a client’s difficulties and to help them identify and work towards their goals.
Nicola also works with individuals who may not be experiencing clearly defined mental health issues but are wanting to develop their understanding and awareness of themselves and make some changes.
She aims to convey her empathy, skills and expertise to each person she sees, in a calm, non-judgmental manner; creating a safe and supportive space to explore difficult emotions, thoughts, experiences and behaviours.
She supports people to identify their goals and offers the skills development needed to reach towards these goals.
